Doggie Bed

Anyone who knows a dog owner knows that people love their dogs. And why not? Dogs are loveable, affectionate, cuddly, sweet, and cute. And what could be nicer to come home to than a dog or several dogs that are ecstatic to see you? It’s no wonder that dog lovers enjoy pampering their pets with the best doggie treats and accessories money can buy.

One thing that many dog owners love to pamper their pooches with is the doggie bed. Every dog deserves a special place to curl up and sleep, a place that is comfortable as well as nicely designed, a place that belongs to no one but the dog. There are many wonderful doggie bed choices on the market today. Below are two of the very best bed choices available.

The Audrey Bed – This gorgeous bed looks and feels like a miniature human bed, complete with a headboard and a pillow! In fact, you should not be surprised if you purchase this bed for your beloved pooch and find yourself eyeing this beautiful bed with envy. The luxurious neo classical styling of the Audrey Bed makes this the perfect doggie bed for the dog who has everything. This bed comes in two colors, Pink Rose and Alice Blue. The headboard has black piping detail with a stylish bow in the center. The pillow is inscribed “Faire Do Do” which means “good night” or “going to sleep” in French. The cushion and pillow are filled with a micro fiber cotton that is warm and extremely light – just like goose down. The covers are made of pure cotton. The bottom of the bed is thoughtfully detailed with a bed skirt looking ruffle for added luxury. The Audrey Bed has a non-skid bottom. The measurements of this bed are as follows: the mattress is almost nineteen inches wide by about twenty three inches long and almost five inches high. The cushion is approximately nineteen inches wide by about twenty three inches long and almost two inches high. The headboard of this bed is two inches thick and almost nineteen inches high. The frame cover must be washed separately from other covers. The blanket must be washed separately using cold Water only. This wonderfully gorgeous bed retails for approximately $315.

The Baby Cradle Bed – This adorable bed is reminiscent of a darling baby bassinet and the perfect doggie bed for your little fur baby. This doggie bed features an oval shaped cushion which is delightfully framed with a delicate ruffle. This bed also includes a darling ruffled half canopy to encourage a cozy and comfortable sleep for your sweet doggie. The canopy features a detachable camellia corsage, pearl strap and a ribbon charm. A soft faux fur covers the cradle and the cozy cushion is also crafted from soft faux fur. Get the Yard Ready

One thing that many people do not think of before they get a dog is the fact that dogs are escape artists who usually will not stay in the yard if there is any possibility of leaving. Whether you are getting a new dog, or moving into a new house and already have a dog, you need to make sure that your yard is absolutely secure so that the dog cannot get out. Dogs who escape from backyards have a nasty habit of running into the street or taking off and getting lost. If you do not want this to happen, you should take the time to prepare so that you do not have to worry whenever you let the dog out back.

Every backyard is different, but most of them have the same basic features. You will usually find a grass area, a patio, possibly some sort of garden, and everything surrounded by some type of fence. For some reason, whenever you put a dog out in a typical backyard, he will go right for the fence to try and find a way to get beyond it. Some fences are easier to prepare than others. Block walls are excellent barriers. They have no space between the wall and the ground, and the only access points are usually whatever yard entrance there is that is covered with a gate. To make this safe, you need to pay attention to the gate. Make sure that as little space as possible exists between the gate and the posts that the gate is attached to. If the dog can stick more than a nose through, it is too big. Also check how much space is between the gate and the ground. Dogs can often squeeze through small places. The gate should have no more than an inch between the bottom and the ground. If the gate path is concrete, you have no problems. If it is dirt, you would do best pouring some concrete or putting down some wood or other hard material to keep the dog from digging a hole.

Most of us have wood fences. While not as good as block walls, they do a good job. As long as the wood is not rotten and fence boards aren’t falling out, dogs usually cannot go through the fence. The big difficulty comes in making sure that the fence goes as close to the ground as possible. If a space exists between the wood and the ground, a crafty dog will find a way to capitalize. The dog will dig until the space is big enough to fit through, and then you have a chase on your hands. The best way to deal with this is to close the space between the fence and the ground all the way around the perimeter of the fence. Chicken wire, logs, bricks, rocks, or anything else you can block the space with will keep the pooch from digging out.

Spending time preparing your backyard will save you the trouble and heartache of having your dog escape. Nobody wants to go through that, so take the time to make it escape proof.
